The Class of 2019 had day to remember in Exeter University Hockey Club’s annual challenge
It was all good pre-pandemic fun back in 2019 when the Exeter-Edinburgh Fives challenge saw the lucky fresher endure an adventurous 16-hour round trip and a day in which he missed his train back, wore a kilt, write a poem and was met by the hockey family along the way.
Will Strutt, a then 18-year-old physics student, lost the traditional game of pub Fives at University of Exeter HC’s Christmas dinner before being waved out of the city by the club captain on the 06:24 to Edinburgh the following morning.
