Sweden’s struggle for survival: ‘To play 11-a-side hockey would be amazing’

Swedish hockey has reached a critical juncture. Their teams have limited resources and players scattered across Europe, yet there remains a burning desire to make it all work.

When the women’s national team heads to the EuroHockey 5s Championships in Walcz, Poland, in July, they will do exactly that and perhaps more.

“I’m really excited about this Hockey 5s tournament,” says captain Klara Moberg. “I think it will be very even because the biggest nations that are superior like the Netherlands, are not participating this year.
