Hard graft pays dividends for Axford clan across hockey and athletics

“Work ethic” is a recurring theme when it comes to the Axford family. Hockey runs through the siblings Charlie, Maddie and Kate — until the latter crossed over to athletics.

A fortnight ago, Kate, who left the 2022 GB women’s squad after an injury to follow her track ambitions, finished third in the 3,000m UK Indoor Championships.
