Valencia — For their third successive Olympic qualifying, Belgium experienced unwanted final seconds drama. Only this time – after late, late goals to deny them 2016 and 2020 Olympics participation – the Red Panthers booked their short hop to Paris this summer and left Great Britain women’s hopes hanging by a thread.
It followed a riveting, if semi-controversial semi-final as Belgium won 3-2 to face hosts Spain. That game will be the finale for gold, but given the celebrations here and likely fatigue, the match will be inconsequential given the bigger picture. Instead, the main tapas on offer will be the Olympic qualifying bronze medal match GB will face against Ireland.

Shockingly poor umpiring- difficult to see how the umpire missed it in the first place and then not to allow the review because they thought it hadn’t been referred in time/ apart from the Belgian player basically cheating
