I both love and loathe social media — and I’m so glad I grew up in an age without it.
There are a lot of harmful qualities, but there has been a shift I’ve noticed of trying to make Instagram and social media a lot more real. The people I follow publish more real life posts rather than airbrushed and edited photos.
Yet, it can be a dangerous world and leave people insecure and self conscious in what they look like. It opens doors to comparing yourself to everyone.

It doesn’t help that misogyny and racism is so prevalent on social media, I quit Twitter because it has become a cess-pit. The massive companies running social media platforms could and should do so much more to stamp out the trolls
