Hockey at its best? Belgium pip India with under-23 talent at heart

Lee Valley — From being the oldest team at the World Cup, Belgium travelled to London with 11 of their squad as under-23s. Welcome to the next gen in the Red Lions production line. An early signal made possible by virtue of the necessity to rest some of their older legs? Or international hockey crossing paths with club hockey once more?

Hockey at its best? Whatever the take, the underlying fact was that here we were watching Friday afternoon hockey with Belgium shorn of their Olympic stars in the sport’s showpiece global league.
