Matchday Diaries: Bedford Hockey Club

In our latest informative episode of Matchday Diaries, the series that delves inside clubs across England to see what makes them tick, we travelled to Bedford HC for their president’s day.

We were present as their men’s 1s went head-to-head against rivals St Albans – who we featured only the episode before! – and found out the most important part of the club.

The club is known for their Walking Hockey initiative as well as their local promotional coverage which has seen them named club of the year.

From hockey hats on dogs, a wide spread of ages across its members and how to sponsor junior sections, this is a club on a continued rise.

Hosted by Emily Kilner, The Hockey Paper speaks to club officials, fans, coaches, managers and players – and of course get a flavour of the traditional match teas.

  1. This is a great overview of our wonderful club. We especially like the fact that it shows all aspects of the club – including walking and juniors. Thanks you to The Hockey Paper. Great fun.
