‘Masters Hockey World Cup can show that players peak at different ages’

George Wilson speaks to the GB Olympian who is one of the stars on show at the NET Masters Hockey World Cup in Nottingham

Sally Walton represented her country at the highest level, firing Great Britain to Olympic bronze in London. Now she is taking the Masters game by storm, following a call from former coach Sue Sutton who was instrumental in developing her game as a youngster. 

Walton, 41, who is still one of the best indoor players in this country, is currently competing for England in the outdoor Masters World Cup in Nottingham, which runs all week until Sunday’s finals.

And the veteran is hoping that more former professionals follow her in picking up the stick once again to compete at the elite level.
