Super 6s Championships: Indoor hockey finally returns to England

After a two-year absence, the indoor scene will return this weekend when the Super 6s Championships gets under way as teams battle for a finals’ day berth at the Copper Box Arena at the end of the month.

It will hopefully mark the start of an action-packed few weeks for the indoor game, with the FIH World Cup set for early next month in Belgium and EuroHockey Club Championship forays also in February.

England Hockey’s focus on the outdoor game has left the shortened format without any England teams pushing for rankings or tournament play. This all paves the way for the domestic Super 6s to shine after beating Covid, although England Hockey has reported a small number of team withdrawals.
