‘We want to increase number of hockey coaches going into schools’

Crewe Vagrants profiled life in our Instagram takeovers before the pandemic. Here, Georgie Brown reveals club life

Crewe Vagrants Hockey club is located in the North West of England. We have four ladies’ teams, four men’s teams, vets, juniors, mixed and everything in between. Our chairperson described us as an ‘all-inclusive grassroots hockey club aiming to promote the sport at all levels.’ We have a rich history with the hockey world with GB international Henry Weir starting his career here and working his way through the junior section and then into the men’s teams. Current England Hockey vice president Chris Reece is also an ex-member of the club and you will often see him at our pitch at the weekend.
