Meet the GB Hockey player aiming for Olympic and indie music highs

Should 2024 call to his own Gallic-sounding tune, Will Calnan will be chasing both Olympic hockey gold with Team GB men in Paris and breakthrough status with his indie four-piece band, French Dogs.

After Tokyo omission, hockey is undoubtedly his focus for this summer. First, there is the little matter of Olympic qualification with GB men in Oman. Should GB finish in the top three, the men will be Paris bound. After returning home, the London quartet will release their first single (read our review here) on Feb 1 and take to the stage with a sweat-induced gig in the capital on the same day. 

“I’ve always listened to and been fascinated by music, with live shows or theatre productions. I’ve always been in awe,” he tells The Hockey Paper.
