Why Ignite the Game?
Throughout Matt Taylor’s career as a player, he has been fortunate to have been coached by some outstanding coaches. Alongside this, and Matt’s own experience and knowledge, he wanted to share that in a resource platform that was for the coaches and players.
What is it?
A resource platform for players and coaches. At launch 500+ resources for coaches and 350+ resources for players which will get added to monthly. It covers off the four key components of developing hockey players: Tactical Understanding, Technical Skill, Physical Capability and Psychological Strength.
What next?
IGNITE will grow in size as it adds more and more resources. It will always be ‘work in progress’ as there’s just so much content to add on each topic. The aim is to have creators from around the world adding and sharing content.
Why is this relevant?
Matt has been coaching hockey for over 20 years and during his time has won over 15 league titles, double BUCS Gold, coached 40+ players to go and represent their country as senior international players, coached three Olympic captains and on a day-to-day basis coaches hockey players at both ends of the playing spectrum, frombeginners to international players. Matt’s father was also an international coach, Level 4 coach and coach educator.
How are the resources presented?
MT13 has used a range of written material and video material. The detail and quality of the content is unrivalled. Content is presented in: Videos, annotated videos, drill cards, resource sheets, Task cards
Over the past 4 years MT13 has been working hard behind the scenes to create a platform that makes hockey drills and resources easy to understand and easy to implement. This has underpinned how the resources have been presented.
