No fleeting visit: the female duo coaching four men’s hockey sides

Fleet and Ewshot Hockey Club recently appointed an all-female coaching team for their senior men’s section. It remains a rare phenomenon within hockey clubs, but coach Lisa Scarborough hopes such appointments can be normalised.

“It’s just all about making it look normal,” she told The Hockey Paper. “Making people aware when it happens, there are women’s coaches.”

Scarborough was appointed to coach the men’s 1s and 2s at Fleet and Ewshot alongside Bernice Gunn, who will take over coaching of the men’s 3s and 4s at the club, combining to make an all-woman coaching team.
