Southgate GK Anton van Loggerenberg: It’s been my dream to play overseas

South Africa goalkeeper Anton van Loggerenberg left behind the sunny climes of his native home in search of a hockey league that will take his game to the next level.

It was a search that led him to the English Premier Division where he will don the smock of newly promoted Southgate HC in the upcoming season.

“I want to be the best in the world and if you want to be the best, you have to continuously be playing with the best and against the best, and that’s the English Hockey League,” he told The Hockey Paper.
