THP: 2022 was a successful year for England. How has the start of 2023 been with GB?
LO: January was exhausting! We were out on the track and road and we were putting our bodies to the test. It was meant to be tough and challenging on and off the pitch. There was a bit of pressure on us; the Olympic qualifiers are in less than a year (if England don’t win the EuroHockey] and these are the things you need to start thinking about and to be in the back of your mind to even be able to put your body into those places.
THP: Let’s cast your mind back then to last summer and England’s first Commonwealth title. As a Uni of Birmingham alumni it must have been a special occasion?
