Hockey Matters: Penalty stroke denied by umpire for time delay

There was confusion at the recent men’s Nations Cup when a routine penalty stroke was overruled for time delay by the on-field umpire. 

It was an unusual decision, but the correct one according to the FIH. What’s more, we are unlikely to see any dilly-dallying from PS takers in the future.
