Hockey India juniors win Sultan of Johor Cup over Australia

India’s under-21 side were gifted around £2,000 per player from Hockey India after winning the Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia.

India beat Australia in a tense shoot-out, with defending champs Great Britain winning bronze over Japan.

The finalists were tied at 1-1 in normal time as India’s Sudeep Chirmako scored in the 14th minute before Jack Holland levelled before half-time.

It then took nine shoot-outs to decide the winner of the 10th title of the prestigious tournament.
