EH Hockey Championship: Old Georgians men keep double hopes in tact

Men’s league champions Old Georgians kept alive hopes of a domestic double as they reached the final of the EH Championships.

Old Georgians overcame Brooklands MU 8-1 at home to take their place in the May 28 final at Lee Valley for the first time.

Old Georgians will play fellow Premier Division side Oxted, the defending champions, or six-time winners Beeston in the domestic cup showpiece.

The Weybridge side had dispatched City of Peterborough 5-0 the previous weekend, a day after lifting the Premier Division crown.

Buckingham, who reached the final in 2016, will meet Beeston in the final of the EH Championship women’s cup final later this month.

Buckingham continued their fine end-of-season form to beat Timperley 5-0.

Visitors Beeston overcame multiple cup champions Clifton Robinsons 3-1 in the other semi-final.
