Argentina women’s Junior Hockey World Cup hopes were dealt a severe blow after both men’s and women’s teams were swapped at the last minute after positive Covid cases, which left former players to blast the national federation.
Argentina’s young Las Leonas drew against Uruguay and lost 1-0 against Canada to leave them bottom of their pool at the Junior Pan American Championships in Santiago, Chile.
Covid cases had been picked up when both squads travelled on the same bus from Mendoza to the Chilean capital, despite leaving with negative tests.
