[img_assist|nid=4089|title=|desc=England Mixed XI at Broxbourne |link=node|align=right|width=220|height=139]The sun shone as Broxbourne Hockey club chairman, Ian Vickers, announced the opening of the £250,000 pitch at Broxbourne Sports Club on June 24.
Earlier, hockey club president, Steve Nendick, thanked, among others, the hard working committee who had managed to raise the money, including £50,000 from the England Hockey Capital Investment Programme.

Former England mixed player, Paul Dover, who played in the first ever international match against Wales in 1991 in Luton, was urging on the Broxbourne team.

Broxbourne’s Mark Pannell pulled one goal back in the second half to leave the score 4-1.
