Mark Hager, the Great Britain women’s coach, remains an advocate of the FIH Pro League while world hockey chiefs rallied behind its own competition ahead of changes for the third installment of the annual league, writes Richard Bright.
Great Britain finished their final matches of this campaign recently at Lee Valley, while Holland women and Belgium men were confirmed as respective champions on Friday, with standings concluded on a percentage basis following a pandemic-ravaged second installment of the annual tournament.
“I still like the Pro League, it’s great to be able to play games and we are one of the fortunate teams who can play international competition,” Hager said before the Lee Valley matches.
