Unbeaten Alexander Stadler called up to Germany’s Olympic hockey squad

Germany have opted for youth as their goalkeeper for the Tokyo Olympics after five-cap Alexander Stadler was called up to the men’s squad.

Stadler, the 21-year-old Mannheim stopper, has produced a string of fine performances for Germany since his debut last September.

It has been some rise since he was voted best goalkeeper at the 2019 Under-21 European Championship when Germany beat England 5-3 in the final.
