Valencia — Reaching her first Olympic Games at London 2012 was a walk in the park for Laura Roper. “It was the easiest – there was no qualification,” she quipped on Saturday after GB had navigated the win or bust match with Ireland to secure Paris tickets.
“This one was the toughest as it’s tournament based. It’s just a relief and I look forward to the next six months and what it has to offer.”
If selected, Roper will battle for her fourth Games having become the first British field hockey player to win three Olympic medals in Tokyo (she was also Unsworth for those campaigns before marrying).
