How to avoid junior mismatches: Mix players up, swap opposition

Last month, a club coaching director raised his concerns over the “damaging” effect of mismatch results which could be detrimental to hockey and keeping youth in the game.

There was wide reader reaction, with Pete Beard, of Havant HC, saying there should also be more education for coaches when scores in junior hockey get out of hand.

Here, Beard has put in place some simple ideas if matches ever get too one-sided.
