Reverse stick rule changes up to FIH, says England Hockey

England Hockey say it is the responsibility of the International Hockey Federation to change any rules on safety – despite the world governing body outlining that associations can play its part.

The Hockey Paper‘s coverage on safety in our sport has highlighted the use of the reverse stick and the dangers it can present.

John Shaw, the Olympian and highly-regarded coach, has previously admitted that the backhand at junior grassroots level was a “coconut shy” and warned that there could be dire consequences for the sport.
