Hockey India League given green light to relaunch in December

The Hockey India League has been given the green light by the FIH to resume after an eight-year hiatus, with reports suggesting that national bodies have also given the go-ahead that hockey’s top stars will be available.  

It is expected to relaunch from Dec 28 to Feb 1, with the HIL set to adopt a home and away format.

The new version will have eight men’s teams and, for the first time, six women’s sides, with the latter having originally been set for four teams.
