How is England Hockey Talent Academy system faring in north regions?

Rob Turner, player/coach at Timperley HC, says the new talent system has “opened his eyes” to where player development lies in the northern regions.

Turner coaches the U18s and the U16s with volunteers, alongside his duties with the men’s 1s where he is also captain.

In a state school dominated area when it comes to hockey, Turner says coaching is a “void we need to fill”.

  1. I would love to know where the oversupply of coaches are in the south?! I think coaches are in short supply pretty much everywhere

  2. Oversupply of coaches in the South? Not sure where that comes from. That’s certainly not the case in Hampshire and Isle of Wight and you can’t really get much more South than that…
