Why hockey and university is perfect match to grow future potential

I have been head of hockey for a number of years now, and through this time I’ve been fortunate enough to coach a number of talented and ambitious hockey players, writes Alex Williams.

We have a large number of pupils who make the county sides, some who play regional – be that at Talent Academy or formerly at Performance Centres – as well as a handful who are invited to NAGS trials. I am heavily involved with Hockey Mentors, a fantastic initiative which works with skilled junior hockey players from disadvantaged backgrounds. As a player, I ply my trade at Surbiton HC; a club renowned for an outstanding junior section.
