Falcon Flyerz hold auction to be coached by GB Hockey stars

Falcon Flyerz is a hockey club for disabled people in Surrey. Open to all ages and disabilities this free club’s mission is to transform lives of disabled people through the power of sport and make disability inclusion the norm.

The club founder, Jo Brown, established this unique standalone hockey club in 2018, which is now based at Old Georgians HC, Weybridge monthly on Sunday mornings alongside their Dragons junior section, and St Teresa’s, Effingham on Mondays through term time with local SEN schools.

Falcon Flyerz coaches and helpers are all volunteers and brag former and current Great Britain players, who give their time free of charge like Steph Elliott and Lee Morton.

The Flyerz have now launched partnerships with Epsom HC, Guildford HC and Marlow HC this coming season. To ensure it has a wider reach within the community and can offer more hockey, more regularly, to more people the Flyerz have invited other host clubs on board.

The dates for the sessions can be found on the website with Sunday morning sessions rotating around the Surrey area and Saturday mornings in Marlow.

Falcon Flyerz relies upon grants, fundraising and sponsorship to survive as all sessions, kit and equipment provided are free to all members therefore, it is looking for support to make a difference.

Or if you wish to be a part of an exciting Silent Auction you still have time. The deadline is Sunday 20 August at 6pm. There is a long list of current and former GB hockey stars available for 1:1 training sessions, or maybe you’d like them to come down for a junior coaching session or as a guest speaker prior to a training session to inspire your team or simply as a 1:1 to help you improve your skills and train like a champion.

What a great Christmas or birthday present for a hockey fanatic! In addition, there are number of donated prizes which might interest you.

As well as the option to simple donate £5 if you are out bid at the end of the auction.

If you simply wish to donate or sponsor some equipment, please contact hockeyflyerz@gmail.com
