The first tranche of Paris 2024 tickets will be punched over the summer when qualification begins in earnest for the 12-strong fields next year.
There are six chances to qualify via the Oceania Cup, EuroHockey Championships, Asian and Pan American Games and African qualifier, where a women’s side won’t compete in Paris but does have its own qualifier event.
The winner of the five confederation zone tournaments will earn a Paris berth. Only France have qualified thus far as hosts for the 2024 Games.
The final tickets on offer will come at the Olympic qualifiers in January.
China, Pakistan – for the first time hosting an international event since 2004 – and Spain will host the tournments.
Women: Changzhou, China (one tournament) and Valencia, Spain (one tournament)
Men: Lahore, Pakistan (one tournament) and Valencia, Spain (one tournament)
The remaining half of the total quota will be attributed to the eight-team field through each of the two separate Paris qualifying tournaments for men and women, with 16 teams per gender.
The top three eligible nations at the end of each tournament will secure berths to complete the 12-team field for Paris 2024.
