May the winners step forward! Hockey clubs mark season end

May was the month to celebrate the end of season awards across England. Here is a snapshot of events held across the country

At Greenock Morton HC, there was a double promotion for the first teams and the men’s 2s narrowly missed out on the West 4 league title for the triple promotion.

Brooklands HC’s Evie H, below, received the Young Umpire of the Year award from the Cheshire Hockey Association.

A few weeks ago at the LCHUA agm and centenary celebration evening, Mia Dewing and Tom Pilgrim received their awards….

Petersfield School Year 7 Edward Kershaw, below, attended the Petersfield Hockey Awards evening where he was awarded Most Improved Player for the second season in a row. He captained the Petersfield U12 boys team – Kites – who won League 1 this season.

“Eddie has also been put through to the Hampshire County development sessions this summer – not bad considering he only picked up a hockey stick for the first time last season!” the school said.
