In Men’s Division 1 North, Cardiff & Met hold a three-point gap over Bowdon, in the race for the sole spot on offer to the Premier Division next season.
Cardiff beat University of Birmingham 2-1 while Bowdon won away at Loughborough Students. Cardiff and Bowdon will meet in a showdown on March 12.
In Division 1 South, Southgate hold the aces thanks to a sizeable eight-point lead over Teddington. Only one side from each Division will be promoted to the Premier Division.
In Vitality Women’s Division 1 North, Bowdon and Stourport are level on points with 31 each. Durham are five points behind in third.
With five match weekends left in Division 1 South, Isca & University of Exeter have a six-point lead over Barnes and Sevenoaks, their nearest challengers.
Meanwhile, England Hockey has also stated that Loughborough Students 2s have also been deducted one point for failing to comply with player eligibility regulations.
It happened for their Vitality Women’s Conference Midlands fixture against Rugby & East Warwicks on Feb 4. In line with league regulations the penalty for this is that the result is revised to a 5-0 win for Rugby and a point deduction for Loughborough.
They are currently bottom of the league, and sit four points off safety behind Beeston 2.
