Three teams secured promotion to the 2024 EuroHockey Indoor Club Cup, with East Grinstead leading the way ahead of Ireland’s Railway Union and Scottish team Clydesdale
A 3-1 win over Railway Union saw East Grinstead lift the EuroHockey Indoor Club Trophy to remain undefeated over five matches in Cambrai, France.
Goals from Pippa Lock, Courtney Hansford and Lydia Macdonell proved too much for the Irish side. Amy Thompson won Player of the Tournament award, while Chloe Brown finished with four goals, their form taking a second English side to the Club Cup.
Meanwhile, Pinoké men enjoyed their second European tournament of the season as they earned the Netherlands promotion to the top tier for 2024 with a second place finish in Mannheim.
That put them through to the promotion pool where they hit their only stumbling block, falling 9-5 to the German host club, Mannheimer HC.
Mannheim won the event, scoring 58 goals in five games, with a perfect set of five wins with Tim Seagon netting 17 times.
The top tier of men’s competition was cancelled due to the impact of the recent earthquake in Turkey.
