Hockey players at a Welsh club who will lose out to 3G say that hundreds of school kids will lose out on sports over football and as they rallied against a council decision to replace a hockey specific pitch.
Ceredigion County Council are going ahead with plans to put in a 3G artificial playing surface at Cardigan – despite a campaign from Barry Middleton’s mum to keep hockey.

IF they are using a ‘European Hockey Grant’ to lay a 3G pitch that is fraud!
However this is an ongoing issue in the UK with the FA pumping money into 3G pitches.
current Astro can be used for Hockey, Tennis, Football etc, 3G is a football only surface. maybe time to get the sports minister and sport England/Wales involved before Football kills of all other sports
