Laura Unsworth: British hockey great ready for Paris Olympic tilt

Great Britain’s most decorated hockey athlete of all time completed the Commonwealth Games set this past summer. A glorious gold medal in front of a home crowd in Birmingham goes into Laura Unsworth‘s sizable medal collection alongside two Commonwealth bronze medals and a silver, not to mention the three Olympic medals and the numerous others.

For many, that would be a logical and natural stopping point for their career – going out as a winner in a home tournament is pretty much as good as it gets.

And yet, Unsworth, 35 next March, doesn’t appear to be finished with her hockey career.
