Sarah Evans reveals positive influence of Great Britain Hockey reserves

Surbiton captain Sarah Evans has admitted that her Olympic experience was “really tough”, but that she was proud to be part of a bronze medal-winning team.

Evans travelled to Tokyo as part of Great Britain women’s 18-strong team but wasn’t named in any of the match day squads, despite being an accredited reserve. The vast majority of teams made use of their full 18 but neither Mark Hager or Danny Kerry did so for Great Britain.

“It was tough, really tough I’m not going to lie,” Evans told The Hockey Paper.
