‘Super stupid’: Germany’s last-gasp show after Dutch rue late calamity

‘Oranje loses lead in idiotic final phase,’ rang out the headline on Dutch hockey’s own website. Goalkeeper Pirmin Blaak called himself “super stupid”.

It followed an incredible denouement to the biggest game yet of EuroHockey 2021 as Germany, as is their wont, came back from two goals down to score twice in the final minutes.
