Why does the Talent Centre (TC) and Talent Academy (TA) framework make financial sense for hockey in general? Or, more specifically for individual clubs, athletes and parents?
If it doesn’t make financial sense, it will fail.
We have seen cost estimates of more than £1,000 per athlete per year before even considering on-costs such as gym and room hire costs, grossing up for bursaries, cost of uniform and travel.
How is this affordable? Who is paying these fees or are the clubs hosting the talent centres expected to take on the whole financial burden and the consequent risk to their wider financial stability?
