The first female player to reach 100 international Great Britain hockey caps, Alison Ramsay talks about her career

My inspiration
I was inspired, and not just on a sporting level, by Martina Navratilova. Her physical and mental toughness and determination to succeed on the tennis court, together with her self-belief and confidence in herself as a person, made her someone I have always admired. I was also inspired by the game of hockey itself. I enjoyed the challenge the sport presented to me and, although not a naturally talented player, I worked very hard for many years to be the very best I could be.
