Great Britain women suffered a 1-0 defeat in the final match of their series against Argentina in Rosario.

Eugenia Trinchinetti netted the only goal of the game as the hosts secured a 4-1 series win.

GB’s only win came in the penultimate match of the tour when captain Alex Danson scored a hat-trick in a 4-2 win.

It was predominantly a full-strength squad in Rosario, with only Lily Owsley and Maddie Hinch rested for the tour.

Danny Kerry, the women’s coach, said: “There has been massive team growth and development out here and the team have grafted on and off the field.”

“I’m proud of the steps we have taken forward here and the new caps will never forget this experience.

“The people in Rosario have been wonderful and we have loved every minute. A brilliant experience which will stand us in very good stead.”

Great Britain squad:

Nikki Cochrane, Laura Unsworth, Anna Toman, Susannah Townsend, Alex Danson (C), Giselle Ansley, Sophie Bray, Hollie Pearne-Webb, Ellie Watton, Nicola White, Amy Costello, Zoe Shipperley, Sarah Haycroft, Sarah Robertson, Ellie Rayer, Emily Defroand, Jo Hunter, Rose Thomas
