What was your earliest ambition?
When I was a child my first ambition was to play for the 1st team in my home club, San Fernando. After this became a reality I started dreaming about being part of the Argentine national team.

The event that altered the course of your life and character…
I remember watching my home club winning the championship when I was nine and then eight years later my debut game with the first team in my home club scoring the winning goal.

You wouldn’t know it, but I’m very good at …
I’m very good at playing padel and tennis because my father is a tennis coach and I spent a lot of time on the court with him when I was a child.

The book that means the most to you?
Rafa (Nadal biography) because it’s an inspiring history and I love his mindset.

The film you can watch time and time again… Home Alone during Christmas, it’s a classic.

What do you do to relax or get away from hockey?
I like to spend a lot of time with my friends in my club, drinking mate and also going out on the boat.

I wish I had never worn…
A pair of shoes that are blue and yellow, like Boca Juniors colours in Argentina. I’m a River Plate supporter.

The biggest temptation you wish you could resist is… Coca Cola

What would be your priorities if you were invisible leader of your country for a day?
I would love to help Argentina to be a safer country in every aspect.

And if you were the FIH chief for a day?
I would try to make hockey bigger by streaming as many games as possible.

The person who has influenced you most in hockey and why…
Pedro Ibarra was the person who influenced me the most. He also played at San Fernando and our families were close to each other so we spent a lot of time together. I learnt a lot from him on and off the pitch.

What has been your happiest moment?
Becoming champion twice with my Argentinian club San Fernando are the happiest moments in my career so far.

What would you change about hockey for the better?
I would love to change something about the aerial ball rule.

What is your best coaching tip for aspiring players?
Be a team player and never give up.

The prized possession you value above all others? My mate

What drives you on? My dreams

What stick do you use? Gryphon Pro Tour Samurai 38.5
