Amsterdam — Tess Howard believes England women can show off their speed and goal threats when they take on New Zealand in a crucial Women’s World Cup group clash on Tuesday evening.
Howard, 23, is playing her first major tournament since rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) which forced her to miss the Tokyo Olympics and a year out of the game.
The gritty forward is also back at the same venue in Amsterdam where she broke her hand mid-match in a routine tackle during a EuroHockey 2019 semi-final defeat. She played over the half of the match in severe pain but only later was the break revealed.
