TOKYO — Japan men’s coach Siegfried Aikman says that world hockey has failed to aid the teams outside the top 10 ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.
Japan, the lowest ranked team at 15th, will take on top-ranked Australia in the opening match of the hockey competition at the Oi Stadium on Saturday.
Their task has been made harder by virtue of having little proper Test match condititions over the last 18 months, while Pro League matches have sporadically continued.
“I think that FIH is not supporting us at all,” Aikman said on Friday.
