Great Britain men’s coach Danny Kerry’s search for the ultimate in team and player performance has seen him venture to places far removed from the hockey blue turf of Bisham Abbey.
In the World Cup year of 2010, he took the women’s side to the south coast for five days of military commando training. He has since shadowed the best surgical teams, learnt from the Royal Ballet, spent time with British Cycling and Mancester City, and lent advice to England rugby coach Eddie Jones on how he gleaned gold for Team GB in Rio.
