‘Very special’: East Grinstead end Surbiton’s stranglehold in women’s club game

Sophie Bray hailed East Grinstead’s stunning triumph to end Surbiton’s 10-year tenure at the top of the England Hockey women’s domestic game as the West Sussex side secured a Euro Hockey League berth for the first time.

“Certainly it is up there at the top winning this title,” Bray told The Hockey Paper after East Grinstead beat Surbiton 3-2 in the Finals Weekend showpiece on Sunday.
