I don’t really understand how sports are funded nowadays. It seems like only the top-tier sports, like football or Formula 1, can afford huge budgets because they have contracts with global brands and sell broadcasting rights for billions. But what about sports that don’t have that level of popularity? How do youth academies survive if even professional clubs sometimes struggle to find sponsors?

Well, that’s exactly where the main debate starts. Sports funding is a complicated system that isn’t just about TV rights or ticket sales. In many cases, the existence of teams, and even entire leagues, depends on external partnerships. That’s why many organizations turn to industries willing to invest significant amounts of money into sports.

Sure, but big brands only invest in top clubs because it boosts their popularity. But where do you find sponsors for smaller leagues or less profitable sports?
