We’ve reached a stage of the year where it is a rare opportunity for umpires to come together in a team and work together for an extended period of time.
Umpiring can be a lonely business. Driving the length and breadth of the country, often on your own and occasionally having to reflect on a less than perfect day, as so often happens on outdoor weekends, is no one’s idea of fun.
