Craig Boyne appointed St Lawrence College head of hockey

St Lawrence College has appointed Craig Boyne, the former Australian international, as its new head of hockey and elite performance, effective April 2026.

Boyne brings a wealth of experience from his playing and coaching career. He is currently deputy head and director of sport at Wellesley Haddon Dene School and has previously held leadership roles including at Kent College Senior School.

Alongside his educational work, he is head men’s player/coach at Canterbury HC, where he has coached and played at high competitive levels.

“I am particularly drawn to this role at St Lawrence College not only because of its rich hockey tradition and record of success, but also because I have seen first-hand the strength of the College community,” Boyne said.

“I would be immensely proud to contribute to its continued growth and success.”

Director of Sport Mr Seth Simmons praised the new appointment, highlighting Boyne’s influence both on and off the pitch.

“Mr Boyne has been a consistent role model for young, talented, homegrown players throughout Kent for many years,” Simmons said.

“Having won the AHL twice, four club premierships in Perth, the England Hockey Premier Division title with Beeston HC, and having represented his country, Mr Boyne knows what it takes to reach the top.”
