How to get 2028 LA Olympics hockey tickets

Hockey fans attending the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games will have the chance to snap up $28 (£20) tickets for matches in a random draw.

Organisers of the 2028 Games said fans can begin registering Jan 14 for a random ticket draw that will determine time slots to purchase tickets for all Olympic sports, including field hockey, as part of a strategy to make seats affordable and broadly accessible.

Organisers have pledged at least 1 million tickets at the $28 price and roughly one-third of all tickets under $100 to keep the Games accessible.

Residents near Olympic venues, including Los Angeles and surrounding cities, will be eligible for a locals’ presale offering early access to time slots.

The 2028 Olympics run from July 14-30, with field hockey staged at the Carson venue cluster south of Los Angeles.

How to get 2028 Olympic hockey tickets

Fans can register on the official LA28 ticket page until March 18 to enter the lottery, which assigns a purchase time slot for when tickets go on sale later in 2026. No payment or purchase is required to enter, and there is no advantage to registering early; all entrants have an equal chance of selection.

Once assigned a time slot, fans can purchase tickets during a ticket drop window, with unsold tickets carried into subsequent drops without needing to re-register.

Organisers are also planning hospitality packages that bundle tickets with premium experiences, travel and accommodation, which will go on sale in 2026 alongside general tickets.

The lottery system and transparent pricing approach aim to avoid inflated costs and give fans worldwide a fair chance to attend marquee events like Olympic field hockey.

USA teams confirmed to play

Last month, USA Field Hockey confirmed that both men’s and women’s teams will compete at 2028.

USA, as host country, have earned their allocated quota places on the basis that the men’s and the women’s team have satisfied the FIH criteria of appearing on a ranking of 25 or better in the FIH World Rankings since the end of the Paris 2024.

The last time the men featured at an Olympics came at Atlanta 1996.
