‘We need to have higher standards’ – Zach Wallace on England Euro Hockey pain

Mönchengladbach — The coolest temperatures of these Championships so far ended for England with a red hot, if one-way assault on the Austrian goal as they netted seven to end their EuroHockey 2025 campaign in sixth place.

Zach Wallace scored a double, while Sam Hooper did the same from penalty corners. Jacob Payton, Phil Roper and Sam Ward, with a delicate reverse chip, also weighed in with goals during a 7-0 win.

This, though, was far removed from the cut-and-thrust hockey against a growing number of European medal contenders.
